Meeting Space that Works as Hard as You Do

Business events don’t have to be boring. The Purser Center provides an inspiring space for meetings and conferences that are as memorable as they are productive.

Academic events find a natural home on our campus. Conferences, lectures and seminars benefit from a stimulating atmosphere and our comprehensive support services. Our lecture halls and seminar rooms are equipped to foster lively discussions and groundbreaking presentations, furthering academic inquiry and collaboration.

Classroom G134

Elevate your next lecture with our premier classroom available for rent. Designed to host up to 146 attendees in a luxurious stadium seating style, this space marries elegance and functionality. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, including an Apple TV, a fully integrated computer system, seamless connectivity to external devices, a high-definition document camera, top-of-the-line projectors, expansive screens, crystal-clear speakers, state-of-the-art wireless microphone and high-speed Wi-Fi this classroom ensures that your presentations are nothing short of spectacular.

Food and beverages are welcomed within this setting and restrooms are conveniently located nearby, ensuring comfort and convenience for all attendees.

Classroom 142 A & B

Our other classrooms available for rent include classrooms 142 A & B. 142A comfortably seats 147 people, while 142B can seat up to 173 individuals. Both rooms come fully equipped with all the tech you might need including an Apple TV, computer, connection to external devices, image mag camera, projectors, screens, speakers, wireless microphone and free wi-fi access. Food and beverages are allowed in the classrooms. Lastly, each classroom has its own private entrance and is conveniently close to parking and restrooms. Everything’s set for a great event!

Each of these rooms are separate and cannot be combined.

Classroom 156 A & B

Classrooms 156 A & B are also available for rental. 156A comfortably seats 147 people, while 156B can seat up to 173 individuals. Both rooms come fully equipped with all the tech you might need including an Apple TV, computer, connection to external devices, image mag camera, projectors, screens, speakers, wireless microphone and free wi-fi access. We have many additional classrooms for rent not pictured here (reach out for more information), ideal for educational sessions, workshops or meetings. These well-equipped spaces feature modern amenities, including high-speed internet, projectors and comfortable seating.

The William D. Purser, DC Center provides a unique venue space in the heart of Chesterfield. Our Event Planner will guide you through every step of the planning process to ensure that no details are overlooked. Audiovisual and media components of events are just as important as great food and a spectacular environment. Our Technical Manger understands this and can produce your event entirely or work with the vendor of your choice.

Featuring glass walls and terrazzo marble flooring, the William D. Purser, DC Center provides a unique venue with a contemporary 10,000 square foot lobby seating up to 400 guests.

Rental of Purser Center includes the following amenities:

  • Auditorium space dependent upon event needs—Walters Auditorium (900 or 1500 seats) or Mabee Hall (150 seats)

  • Food and beverage
  • Security Guard—A uniformed security guard is required for all events serving alcoholic beverages. The cost for five hours is $150.
  • Liability insurance—A liability and property damage insurance policy is required and typically costs approximately $150. These arrangements can be made through The Purser Center or independently.

Catering

The caterer will coordinate all of your rentals—tables, chairs, linens, silverware, glassware, china, etc.—and also coordinate timing, set up, menu and bar. You may use your own vendors for DJ services, bands, cakes, florists, chair covers, etc., but all vendors must be approved by The Purser Center management.

We recommend these preferred local caters:
